Pepe Le Pew episodes usually engage Pepe in pursuit of a black female cat that appears to be a female skunk, according to love-struck Pepe. He is so in love that he doesn't even know that Penelope Pussycat is a cat with a white stripe painted down her back. The white strip happened by accident when she crawled under a newly painted picket fence. As Pepe pursues and pursues Penelope, she runs and runs away from him. Not because she is shy, but because of his rancid odor and aggressive manner. It’s quit entertaining watching Pepe hop after her at a carefree pace.

Chuck Jones created Pepe Le Pew, and brought in the man with over a thousand voices, Mel Blanc. Blanc provided the voice for Pepe and based his mannerisms on Charles Boyer's Pépé le Moko from Algiers (1938). Others have stated that Pepe was fashioned after Maurice Chevalier. With all that, Chuck Jones: Memories of Childhood, a short documentary, in which Jones says Pepe was based on himself. He declares he was very shy with girls, and Pepe clearly was a pursuer of girls.

One thing is for sure, Pepe Lew Pew episodes are a delight for kids to watch. The stories are very innocent but funny.
